This guy named Hood is not a typical artist in our generation. I have been sneaking and checking-up on Nige Hood's music just to make sure he deserves the credit I've been giving him. Yes I admit I am late this should have been one of my first blogs, but there was no way I could show you something I am not sure of. And I am absolutely positively sure that Nige Hood is something special coming out of Charlotte (QC representa), NC. If you know me, you know that I respect an artist on their grind. "IM THE ONE...HIP-HOP TO ME IS LIKE FATHER TO SON" ,blowing up from the underground scene in Charlotte, NC artist Rocky Spitz is not what most expect to come out of the south. When it's time to sit down and mellow out Mr. Spitz is the guy to search for. The NY native makes music from the heart and it is obvious. Would I blast his music on the way to the club??? Naw, but I will make sure his tracks are on my ipod when I need a mental escape. He does not have a song that tells you how to dance and when to do it. Does Nas? Think about it!

His political views are discernible in his song "Who's That Man". *sniffs air* Do I sense some controversy from this artist? You be the judge check it out at http://www.myspace.com/rockyspitz. Being apart of "The Black Hippi" movement what do you expect? Marijuana, flowers, and a chick named Sunshine wearing bell bottoms and angel sleeved shirts? Give Rocky some more time, experience, and exposure and I'm sure more than just a few will nod to songs like "Ms. Music" and "Old Times". Not just rapping about the pretty and petty Rocky Spitz has the potential to open eyes to the REAL things that go on around us.

Up and Coming artist Hollywood Holt has pushed his way up to the top of the underground with his unique style and fresh beats. This north Chicogoian actually makes riding a moped look cool, forget spending money on rims....I can pay back student loans and ride a moped. This fly guy even hangs with a moped crew, Murder Club which he mentions in "Throw A Kit On That Bitch" (which is pretty damn dope might I add). Do you get any cooler than that? Probably so but who cares he is on the remix to Green Day's "The Anthem". With the release of his first single "Hollywood" and his bangin' mixtape "Holt Goes To Hollywood", Hollywood Holt is currently touring with Lady Sovereign and the coolest scholars out right now CHESTER FRENCH...WHOA!!!! You have to love a guy cool enough to perform on the same stage as Chester French right??? APPRENTIZ???? yup sounds about right

The definition of an apprentice is to be a beginner or a learner. Artitst Apprentiz is definitely a beginner to my ears. Up and coming UK native Apprentiz is like a cool classic rock meets 8mile. Not a problem if that's what you listen to but I would definitely change the station if one of his songs came on the radio. Maybe if he didn't rap and just sang I could nod to his beats. Hot tracks terrible flow. It really doesn't seem to come from the heart but who am I to judge? I was taught if you don't have anything nice to say don't say it all sooo I'm gonna leave it where it is.
